What the games are built on
The Fantasy Team Builder runs on a one-time pull of Sleeper's 2025 regular-season numbers, deliberately frozen. That is the one thing worth explaining here: a score you post today has to mean the same thing as one posted last month, and it cannot if the numbers shift under the leaderboard every week. Its player values are a tuned game model built on top of real production β not the live projections our alerting product runs on, which move daily by design. The two are kept apart on purpose.
Team Wheel Eras is built differently, because it can be. Every player card there carries a real points-per-game figure computed from a real season: ESPN's season statistics for the 1990s, and nflverse's weekly player statistics from 2000 on. Nothing is estimated. Scores are compared within a decade rather than across them, since a great 1990s roster genuinely scores fewer fantasy points than an average modern one, and pretending otherwise would tell you about the rules rather than about your picks.
It stops at the 1990s for a reason worth stating plainly: we could not build the 1980s honestly. The only source with real statistics that far back exposes a limited set of season leaders, and applied to the 1980s it leaves most franchises without enough players to field a roster β Miami's entire 1985 pool is Dan Marino and Mark Clayton. There is also no kicker and no defense in Eras, because no free public source carries team defense statistics before 2000.
Most of the trivia bank is generated straight from those same season statistics, which is why it can ask who led the league in receiving yards in a specific year and be right. Every generated question asks about an exact number the data ranks, never about who was βbestβ. The rest β scoring rules, roster construction, waiver mechanics β is hand-written, because a stat sheet cannot produce those.
They are free, no account is required to play, and nothing here is a trial that expires. If you want live data pointed at your own league rather than a wheel, that is the product β but the games stand on their own, and plenty of people only ever play them.
